The Southern Rodmakers Gathering has been in the same place since its 2nd year, but it’s time to start a new tradition.
SRG 2026 will be held at Gaston’s White River Resort. We really think this will be better overall for the attendees for many reasons, one being that Gaston’s has an indoor convention center! We will use this for all presentations and we won’t be at the mercy of the rain, snow, frost, wind, etc. There are cabins and rooms available at Gaston’s, and you can go to their website and find a link to make reservations. Gaston's is a great place and it fills up fast, so if you want to make a reservation, do it soon, just to be safe.
The first SRG was held at a pavilion by the Norfolk Dam. Ever since then it has been at what was Dale Fulton‘s Blue Ribbon Resort which is now Craynor’s. It’s been nice having it in the same place for all these years, but as I said, it’s time to start a new tradition. The fishing access from Gaston is much better and the people at Gaston are wonderful to deal with. They’re always welcoming and their founder, Jim Gaston, along with Dave Whitlock, Dale Fulton, and Forest Wood, are the ones responsible for the trophy brown trout population in the white river.
I’m already looking forward to SRG 2026! See you there!!!
