About the Gathering

Southern Rodmakers is an annual gathering of bamboo fly rod makers. Over 300 craftsmen from 39 states have gathered on the White river near Cotter Arkansas since 1998. If you're interested in making bamboo fly rods, join us at the gathering in October, or follow the links below to join the on-line gathering of bamboo rod makers. "The List" is a great place to start. The list is an old school e-mail server with hundreds of members around the world.

Directions to the Gathering

The gathering will be at Fulton's Blue Ribbon Lodge.  Here's a map with the route from Gassville.  If you're using a GPS to find the lodge, it may take you to the lodge from the north heading south down Denton Ferry road.  That route will take you down a gnarly gravel road.  It will get you there, but we don't recommend it.  Find your way to Cotter first, and then head north up Denton Ferry road.  It will be a paved road until you get to the residential neighborhood where Fulton's is located.  It's just a couple hundred yards of gravel off Denton Ferry road.

There will be parking around the lodge and on the grass directly across the road from the gathering.  The lodge is in a residential area.  So its not a good idea to park in the neighbors yards.  Stay on the Fulton's property.  If you're not sure where to park, stop at the lodge and ask.

Everyone needs to check in with me when you arrive at the gathering.  I'll have a name tag for you.  Wear your name tag any time you're on the Fulton's property.  For security reasons, no one will be allowed on the property that has not registered for the gathering.

It's almost here!  I'll make a deposit tomorrow and update the attendee list tomorrow night.  Looks like there will be about 100 of us this year.
