About the Gathering
Southern Rodmakers is an annual gathering of bamboo fly rod makers. Over 300 craftsmen from 39 states have gathered on the White river near Cotter Arkansas since 1998. If you're interested in making bamboo fly rods, join us at the gathering in October, or follow the links below to join the on-line gathering of bamboo rod makers. Wednesday Evening Pre-gathering Dinner
It’s traditional for folks arriving early to meet for dinner at a local restaurant Wednesday evening. Everyone is invited. This meal is not included in the registration fee. We will meet at the Back Forty at 1400 NE Hwy 62 in Mountain Home at 5:30pm again this year. Download the menu here. This menu is a couple years old, but it should be pretty much the same. This is a relatively small restaurant as is the case with all the restaurants in Mountain Home. It will be packed with our group there. Come prepared to visit. It will take a couple hours for everyone to get their orders and pay out. They are expecting us, but it will still be a lot to do for a small local restaurant.
