About the Gathering
Southern Rodmakers is an annual gathering of bamboo fly rod makers. Over 300 craftsmen from 39 states have gathered on the White river near Cotter Arkansas since 1998. If you're interested in making bamboo fly rods, join us at the gathering in October, or follow the links below to join the on-line gathering of bamboo rod makers. "The List" is a great place to start. The list is an old school e-mail server with hundreds of members around the world.

SRG 2016 Awards
Dave Norling Sr. was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award at SRG 2016. Dave is a mentor for many at SRG with relationships that started in the early days of the rodmakers list. The award was presented to Dave by his son Dave Norling Jr. Dave Jr. was the recipient of the SRG 2016 Rodmaker of the Year. The Norlings are a father and son team of rod makers that brings laughter and encouragement to all of us at SRG. Here's a good video of Dave Sr. from 2006.
